Prof. Dr. Klaus Kümmerer
Prof. Dr. Klaus Kümmerer holds the chair of Sustainable Chemistry and Material Resources and is Director of the Institute of Sustainable and Environmental Chemistry at the Leuphana University Lüneburg. He is Director Research and Education of the International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre in Bonn.
His research and teaching is focused on Sustainable Chemistry, Sustainable Pharmacy, Material Resources, Aquatic Environmental Chemistry with a focus on micropollutants, and Time in Environmental and Sustainability Research.
Prof. Dr. Kümmerer has served in (inter-)national committees (e.g. Global Chemical Outlook by UNEP, the EU Technology Platform SusChem Europe) and is a member of the High Level Round Table Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability of the European Union.
He is founding editor and editor-in-chief of Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy, and Current Opinion in Sustainable Chemistry journals as well as associate editor of Chemosphere and Environmental Pollution.
